AMT 1640-162-93 Mechanical Seal - EPDM Type 6A

The AMT 1640-162-93 is a Mechanical Seal, EPDM, Type 6A, size 3/4 Inch for an AMT Solids Handling Pump. MECHANICAL SEAL REPLACEMENT
1. Loosen four screws until screw disengages nut in bracket. 2. Remove casing assembly from bracket. 3. Remove screws holding volute to seal plate . 4. Remove volute. 5. Remove impeller . Keyed shaft impellers; remove impeller screw , inspect o-ring replace, if required. 6. Pry worn rotating half of shaft seal from impeller hub. Discard seal. 7. Remove seal plate from bracket. 8. Press stationary half of shaft seal from seal plate. Discard seal. 9. Replace any o-rings that show signs of wear or damage. 10. Rebuild pump with new shaft seal.
