The Groco CP-20-BBWA-24V is a Bronze Automotive Centrifugal Booster Pump and Motor unit with 1/2 Inch by 1/2 Inch NPT Ports, coupled to a 24 Volt DC Motor. This pump is an efficient centrifugal pump designed for use in hot or cold water circulating systems in automotive, industrial, or marine and RV applications, or any pumping job that needs high GPM flow but relatively low pressure. The Motor is Ignition Protected with a ball bearing, a 316 stainless steel shaft, and has a Metal Base. This centrifugal pump is silent running, is simple to service and operate, and will handle small solids without pump damage. It will provide high GPM flow but relatively low pressure. Years of trouble-free service can be expected without servicing filters or check valves. A centrifugal pump will not self-prime, so a flooded inlet is required.
Important : DO NOT USE FOR GASOLINE or other combustible fluids.
The C8024V deck wash system is intended for deck wash and anchor wash with salt water or freshwater. Install the check valve on top of the inlet seacock, and the check valve will maintain system prime while the boat is underway and the pump is not in use. A 3/4" scoop thruhull not included must be installed to assure that the pump inlet plumbing is always under positive pressure. Use 3/4 inch ID reinforced hose to the pump, and garden hose after the pump. The pump inlet and outlet have standard garden hose connections. Doubleclamp hose connections and use TFE thread tape on threaded connections. The use of optional PST1 Pressure Storage Tank will reduce pump cycling. Once primed you will enjoy pressurized water on demand. Just pick up the nozzle and squeeze. When not in use, coil the discharge hose and hang it to prevent the accidental discharge of pressurized water. Engine vibration and boat movement may cause the check valve to loose prime and cause the pump to "cycle". This is normal if the toggle switch is left "on". Always turn the toggle switch "off" when you have no plans to use your deck wash system. Vane pumps are manufactured to close tolerances. Remove the pump cover once per season and apply a small amount of vegetable oil to the inside of the pump housing to help to prevent salt and silt buildup.
