Product Information :

The Groco PSR-12V is a Bronze Paragon Senior Large Yacht Water Pressure System for Yachts over 50ft, is Self Priming, with no pressure tank included, with 1 Inch ID Hose Inlet by 1 Inch ID Hose Outlet Ports, coupled to a 12 Volt DC Motor. A pressure gauge and inlet strainer are included. It does not include a pressure tank which is sold separately. The motor and circuitry are not waterproof. Install this pressure system in a dry, well ventilated location not more than 10-feet above the water supply. If the pump will have a flooded inlet the pump may be oriented in any position, but if the pump must self-prime then the orientation must be upright. The pump complies with NSF-61 low-lead standard. It has teflon impellers and is capable of developing pressure up to 60 Psi and flow up to 11 GPM. Improved pump design has screw-on seal end cap. The construction (bronze, stainless steel, Teflon and Delrin) makes it suitable for pumping nearly any non-flammable and non-explosive fluid with low solids content. This pump is for applications where occasional dry running may be encountered. NOTE: DO NOT lubricate any internal part of the pump.

Applications

Mount the pump system to a sturdy platform using the six mounting feet included. Operation will be quieter if mounted to a solid surface. Before making plumbing connections pour water into the pump inlet to aid in initial priming. This system will develop substantial pressure and suction so plumbing lines must berigid pipe or heavily reinforced hose. The inlet hose to the pump must be 1 inch ID. Install a WSB1000 1 inch pump strainer in the inlet line between the supply tanks and the pump in a location that can be easily serviced. The discharge line between the pump and the Pressure Storage Tank must be 1 inch ID minimum, and must be free of filters, valves or any other device. The plumbing size after the pressure storage tank may be reduced if desired. Install the CV100 check valve, anywhere between supply tank and NOFLO. Use of a foot or two of hose at the pump inlet and discharge to help isolate vessel plumbing from pump pulsations. This unit requires the use of a Pressure Storage Tank and multiple Pressure Storage Tanks may be plumbed in parallel if desired. Before applying power to the he pump system, the air charge in the pressure tank must be checked and adjusted to 2830 PSIG. There is an air valve on the tank at the opposite end from the plumbing connection. Remove the protective cap and check and set air pressure with no water pressure present and use a standard tire gauge to check the pressure. Excess pressurecan be released by depressing the center of the valve. Use a hand pump such a bicycle pump to add air if necessary. DO NOT install a purifier between the supply tank and the pump.

This pump system will automatically shutdown when supply tank is dry, and is equipped with a patented dry tank protection system called NOFLO, which senses the presence of water at the pump inlet. The pump system will shutdown because the NOFLO sensor has sensed the absence of water at the pump inlet for 30seconds, or that the pump has run continuously for 10minutes. Some purified water such as reverseosmosis water or reclaimed water may not be sensed by NOFLO. If this happens the pump may turn off even though water is present. A jumper wire is installed across the NOFLO terminals. The jumper disables NOFLO and permits the pump to operate with purified waters. Dry running protection is still provided by a builtin 10minute timer.

Routinely check the WSB1000 inlet strainer at least monthly, and check the air charge in the pressure tank at least monthly. This is done with no system water pressure present. With a tire gauge check the air charge. It should be the same as the cuton pressure of the pump. Add or remove air as needed before applying power to the pump and pressurizing the system with water.

NOTE Freezing will damage your pump and the connected plumbing. To winterize first allow the system to pump the supply tank dry. Shut off power when the faucets begin to pass air. Disconnect inlet and outlet hoses to drain the connecting plumbing and remove the WSB1000 strainer bowl. Pour an ounce or two of potable alcohol into the pump. Reconnect the hoses to prevent evaporation. DO NOT use automotive antifreeze to winterize as it may be poisonous.
