Product Information :

The Groco PST-1 is a Stand mount 2 Gallon Pressure Storage Tank with 3/4 inch MNPT Ports. This pressure storage tank may be used for fresh or salt water. A pneumatic pressure charge matched to the pump cut on pressure prevents water logging by separating the air charge from system water pressure with a rubber bladder. The result is smooth pressure delivery, even temperature mix in showers, and reduced pump cycling. Tanks may be mounted in any position, and anywhere in the cold water plumbing after the pump. The Maximum Working Pressure is 100 PSI.

Applications

You can install this pressure storage tank horizontally or vertically, anywhere in the cold water plumbing after the pump and before the water heater. Locate the PST and the system pressure gauge as far away from the pump as possible to reduce the affect of pump pulsations. If SPACElimitations necessitate locating the pressure storage tank adjacent to the pump, use several feet of coiled reinforced hose between the pump and the tank. Use the mount hardware supplied to secure the PST to a suitably sturdy platform remember the tank will be very heavy when filled with water, and leave sufficient room above the tank to allow for monthly checking and adjusting the pressure tank air charge. Before applying power to the pressure pump, the air charge in the pressure storage tank must be checked and adjusted to match the pump cuton pressure. There is an air valve on the tank at the opposite end from the plumbing connection. Remove the protective cap to check and set air pressure with no water pressure present and use a standard tire gauge to check the pressure. Excess pressure can be released by depressing the center of the valve. Use a hand pump such a bicycle pump to add air if necessary. Check the pressure storage tank air charge with no water pressure present at least monthly.
