The Groco SPO-80-N-24V is a Bronze Heavy Duty Positive Displacement Vane Pump and Motor unit, Self Priming with 1/2 inch NPT plus Garden Hose Adaptor Ports, coupled to a 24 Volt DC Motor. This vane pump is a positive displacement pump, is self-priming, capable of operation in either direction, and it is instantly reversible. It has a relatively high flow (more than gear pumps) which makes it suitable for general purpose duties such as deck-wash, bilge pumping (filtered inlet), fuel transfer, ballast transfer, and oil change. The SPO-80 Series Vane Pumps have a more powerful motor than the SPO-60 series and are better suited for long run-time or when there is a head pressure greater than 20 PSI. The motor is ignition protected with a 316 stainless steel shaft. No pump control is provided, and the customer must provide switching. The pump can be installed in any orientation. If the pump is at or below the liquid source level, in-line valves may be installed at both pump ports to prevent fluid spills during pump service.
Important : DO NOT USE FOR GASOLINE or other combustible fluids.
The SPO80N24V vane pump may be used to perform a variety of onboard duties such as fuel transfer, engine oil change or ballast trim. The pump should be installed in a dry location. When installing a reversing model as a transfer pump between two onboard tanks, locate the pump centrally between the two liquid sources, not more than 24 inches higher than the lowest of the two liquid sources. The pump should be powered and protected by a dedicated circuit breaker of the proper capacity. No regular maintenance is required. Annual inspection of plumbing and electrical connections should be made. If the pump is installed above the liquid level, no winterization is required. If the pump is installed at or below the liquid level, drain the pump body by removing the cover plate.
