The Little Giant 589211 is a 1.5-MDI-SC Magnetic Drive Centrifugal Pump, for Non-Submersible In-line Use, rated for 325 GPH gallons per hour at 1 foot of head open flow, with a 3/4 inch MNPT and 3/8 inch FNPT inlet port by 1/4 inch MNPT outlet port, coupled to a 1/35 Horsepower, 230 Volt, single phase Motor that has a 6 foot cord. The Little Giant 1.5-MDI-SC series features leakproof, seal-less magnetic drives and are designed for in-line, non-submersible use. Volute, magnet housing and impeller are glass-filled polypropylene for excellent chemical resistance. Ceramic shaft and thrust washers are 99.5% pure alumina for excellent wear and trouble-free service. Pumping heads are easily rotated, cleaned or serviced with no special tools required. Spindle shaft is supported at both ends to prevent impeller damage during start-up and stop of pump. The pump's shaft and thrust washers are made from ceramic; its volute, magnet housing and impeller, glass-filled polypropylene; and its O-Ring, Viton. This pump uses a 6 foot power cord with a 3-prong plug, sleeve bearings, and a thermally protected, open, fan-cooled motor. It can pump liquids with a specific gravity of 1.1. It can handle an ambient air temperature of up to 77 F, and a liquid temperature of up to 150 F
WEIGHT : The Little Giant 589211 weighs 4.5 Lbs.
There are many applications that the Little Giant 589211 are used in. Typical applications for this pump include Circulation of moderately corrosive acids, alkalis, solvents, brine, plating solutions, sterile solutions, and other moderately corrosive chemicals and solutions that are compatible with the pump's material of construction.
This pump is assembled and tested at the factory, and is ready for immediate use. It may be installed in any position, including vertically with the pump head down. To ensure proper plumbing connections, see the SPECIFICATIONS table to determine the intake and discharge sizes of The pump. Use thread sealer on all pipe connections and handtighten only. Tighten all wing nuts before operating the pump. The motor nameplate lists all electrical data. Make sure the pump is connected to proper voltage before operating. When wiring a pump with no plug, the green or green/ yellow wire is ground, and the other two are line live. Do not allow the pump to run dry without liquid. This pump is not submersible; operate it only in the inline mode. Do not put the pump into liquid. Install the pump in a dry area, protected from splashing. This pump is not self priming; it must be installed so that the pump head volute is flooded when the pump is started. That is, the inlet of the pump must be below the level of the surface of the liquid being pumped Figure 1. Do not restrict the intake side of the pump. Connections on the intake side should not be of smaller inside diameter pipe or tubing or hose than the intake inside diameter of the intake thread designation. If reduced flow is required, install a valve or other restriction device on the discharge side. When using a valve, the pump can be throttled to provide various flow rates and pressures without harming the motor or the pump parts.
