The Marco 164-020-12 is a nickel-plated brass Self Priming Gear Pump for Lubricating Oil, rated for 0.53 GPM (2 l/min), with helical Bronze gears, 3/8 inch BSP Ports, coupled to a 12 Volts DC Motor. This self-priming electric pump is designed for the transfer of lubricating oils or viscous liquids. It is an ISO 8846 Compliant Device. The pumping elements are made up of bronze gears which can run dry for brief periods. It comes equipped with an in-line filter on the inlet side. The pump can be mounted in any position. Fix the pump with suitable diameter screws corresponding to the holes on the feet/base. There are numerous fields of applications for the pump, however DO NOT pump FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS with this pump. THE MOTOR IS NOT EXPLOSION PROOF. Do not install the pump where flammable vapors or gases may be present. The pump can operate on a continuous cycle if it does not exceed the maximum pressure and temperature limits. Always mount the anti vibration rubber fittings supplied with the pump. Their usage ensures a consistent reduction in noise and vibration levels. The maximum temperature for this pump is 248 degrees F.
WEIGHT : The Marco 164-020-12 weighs 3.1 Lbs.
Typical applications for the 16402012 include the Transferring of lubricating oils or viscous liquids, transferring of antifreeze, draining of engine. It is particularly suited for draining engine sumps with the special tubes kit OK1 and for engines lubricating operations. To ensure the correct directional flow of the fluid as indicated by the arrow on the top plate, it is necessary to connect the positive pole of the battery supply to the red wire on the motor endcap and the negative pole to the black wire. Electrical connections must be made using adequate terminal blocks and connectors ensuring a tight fit of the electrical cables. Bad wiring can cause power losses and/or over heating of the cabling it self. Under conditions of high operating pressures, such as with a closed or a blocked outlet, or excessive length of the delivery circuit and/or excessive pressure due to accessories, it can be subjected to elevated stresses and overheating and therefore should not be used for prolonged periods under such conditions. The IP67 rating of the motor provides complete protection against ingress of dust and airborne particles, as well as protection against water and liquids, up to and including immersion in up to one meter of water.
