The Tuthill 4108V-CC-A-88600 is a Cast Iron Rotary Gear Pump and Motor unit, close coupled pump and motor assembly, with a mechanical seal and carbon graphite idler and housing bushings, Internal Relief Valve, Relief valve is set at 55 PSI (can be adjusted in field), COUNTER Clockwise rotation only (from shaft end view), A type Tang Shaft, 1 Inch NPT by 1 Inch NPT ports, rated for a maximum flow of 12. 9 GPM at 1750 RPM. This pump is close coupled and assembled onto a 1/4 Horsepower, 1725 RPM, 115/230 Volts, Single Phase, XP, 48YZ FRAME electric motor. Tuthill 4000 Series cast iron pumps employ the internal gear pumping principle. There are only two moving parts, and the pumping action is based on a rotor, idler gear, and crescent shaped partition cast integral with the cover. This pump has an internal relief valve, and the adjusting screw of the relief valve is located on the suction side of the pump. The internal relief valve on this pump is designed for over-pressure protection only. It is not intended as a flow control device or for any similar use. Continuous operation of the relief valve will result in excessive heat buildup within the pump cavity that could cause serious internal damage. Make certain the adjusting screw of the relief valve is located on the suction side of the pump. Unless otherwise specified at the time of order, this pump is supplied with the standard spring, with a range of 40-70 psi, set to provide full bypass relief at 55 psi. This pump should not be used for handling plain water, corrosive or abrasive liquids or liquids not possessing adequate lubricity. Do not run the pump dry, as this could cause severe damage to the internal seal, bushings and/or metal parts.
